Meeting with a Mermaid πŸ§œβ€β™€οΈ

Today we want to explore Rudder Cut Cay in the Exumas. Carefully we navigate through the cut (deeper passage between the islands, where you can pass with the boat). The passage is no problem, it is wide enough and there is no wave in the entrance. We find a nice anchorage in front of the islet. On one side you can see the islands or some single rocks.

On the other side, we look out onto a palm-studded sandy beach

With the dinghy we make a small exploration tour. It is all very beautiful, however, the islands are privately owned, so we are not allowed to go ashore.

But the highlight of Rudder Cut Cay is under water. The magician David Copperfield, who owns one or more (depending on the source) private islands, had an underwater sculpture sunk into the sea here: A mermaid sitting in front of a piano. Fortunately, the water here is not deep and very clear, so you can see her well, even while snorkeling. Isn’t she pretty?🀩😍🀩
